Stop Feeding the Machine
“…set your course by the stars, not by the lights of every passing ship.” General Omar Bradley
Living your truth without compromised integrity, allows you to stop feeding the machine of control and polarity that keeps us separated from each other…and under the thumb of control, dictating who allows you to do what you want to do.
I’m talking about how you operate at work, since that’s where most of us spend our time, as well as how that trails into our home and time out in the world.
Your happiness grows or shrinks by how much you show up every day and how much you perpetuate the freedom/control trajectory.
I can assure you it is possible to be happy in the most unlikely place - your current work environment. In fact, that’s the only place it can begin.
I won’t prescribe what to do with your life but I can teach you how to start living it, starting with how to be happy even when you work for someone else.
Is this where you are?
The season has changed again or things aren’t changing at all except for your workload. “It” has caught up with you.
You followed the prescribed path of how to navigate the corporate world, or maybe you’re trying to figure it out like it’s some kind of secret society where none of the rules are written down.
And, you’re at the point of wondering why you are where you’re at. What happened?
I suspect that you aren’t been seen as your full potential because you’re not showing up 100%, either because you don’t know who that is, or how to do it without being attacked savagely by being too “fluffy” at work.
Authenticity is not about being a doormat but your most powerful, influential self without wasting excessive time or effort.
And, even though you always get through “it,” whatever “it” is, you’re finding that’s getting a little harder, takes a little more your spirit to stay relevant and get it done.
And maybe even that isn’t working anymore. Maybe leadership has gotten so bad that they’ve abandoned any sensibilities and are completely tone deaf. The business landscape has changed, and so has your job, or what you used to do has been phased or outsourced out. As things speed up, so does the pressure to perform but the support or resources, like time are frozen.
And maybe this is how your life is feeling. Not exactly where you thought you’d be especially for someone smart like you.
If any of these make you compromise your integrity, makes you feel small and controlled, then you’re in the right place right now.
The Freedom Scale
Ok, a True Life sounds so…esoteric, so let me break it down on how this plays out at work so you can assess where you currently fit. If you’re #2 or #3, let’s talk.
Do you think it’s hard to change?
Change is like heaven, everyone wants to go there but no one wants to die. Joel Peterson
People outsource their guidance to those who are “qualified,” like leaders at work, enlightened ones (Buddha, etc.), therapists, etc. If that’s working for you, keep with it.
As an alternative, learn a different way to consult the expert who’s living your life: YOU. No one knows your backstory and how to get to the hidden undertow faster than you.
It’s so simple and fast, you’ll begin to wonder why it’s been so hard to figure out what surpassing happiness and purpose…because it doesn’t have to be.
What happens after you work with me?
I’ll teach you everything you need to be independent and confident that you’re on the right track. You’ll:
Be seen and heard at work without wasting your time and effort.
Be happy, against the odds of incompetent leadership.
Get what you “really” want.
“Know” what to do when life happens, because you’ll have a firm foundation that gives you a point to navigate from.
Never give your power away to those around you, no matter their position in the company or world at large.
Contribute to change in a meaningful way.
