The one thing I've discovered is that taking shortcuts leads you back to the place you started. It's like iceskating...making patterns on beautiful smooth ice until the moment the sun comes out and you fall into the deep still waters, nothing but wasted effort and wet underwear.
I've always been wary of practices that promise bliss by just breathing or by simply thinking positive thoughts to transmute life. Not to take away from them because incremental, temporary benefits can result, but I've found lasting benefits that yield effortless joy rise from taking the entire experience, the thorn and the rose, by looking at the deep roots of the entire beautiful plant, with courage....and a real good flashlight to pinpoint what's really going on.
I have found there is no spiritual microwave to get to your truth and in turn, your powerful light.
And for that reason, I think that's why our deepest fears distract us with "efforting" actions that don't really free them...when the room is dark for too long, the light can be scary. Our fears thinking that continuing to think and live according to those that aren't even ours is the best thing for us while our hearts yearn for "something" different.
The good news is that the thorn wants to give you the exact thing that the rose promises....it just uses a different way of getting our attention. I reference these as the subconscious scripts that play out in our lives, repeatedly, until we finally pay attention.
The problem is that most of us have not been taught how to translate the thorns into their root cause or the simplest way to bring them to the light to receive their gift. I've found that our scripts have either a lifetime, ancestral or evolutionary basis, and by mapping them out by easily studying the patterns in your life as well as the patterns within your family, you can then apply the right tool to remediate them and receive its intended gift.
The beauty of this methodology is that all you need is the courage and honesty to map out what's going on in your life right now to understand what any thorns might be telling you by using the language of the subconscious (metaphors and feelings).
An easy example is a car accident - disruption of movement (being rear-ended or t-boned, for instance) correlate to a disagreement between your subconscious, which only wants to keep you safe in the familiar (e.g., small) and controlled) contrasting to what a conscious desire for something new (perhaps freedom or authenticity). By analyzing the events and circumstances around the event, you can then easily translate them into a metaphor that the subconscious can understand . Once it knows you know what it's trying to tell you, it can release its charge.
My point is this, "doing the deep work" and going to the still deep waters isn't as scary or difficult as we may have been led to believe. It is all within your reach every day and easy to do.
I share all of this with you because I want you to know that you are more powerful than you have ever been taught to believe.
