Growing up is a term that is reserved for kids which is curious since we continue to grow until the moment we take our last breath.
Instead, adults term this process as enlightenment, transformation, expansion which are all true but the process of growing up is really about learning, integrating, and applying our learnings.
For some reason, society puts constraints on us that hinder our growing up need in the form of things that are merely "mental masturbation" or distractions. Stuff like 8 hours (or more) in the office to chase that promotion, mortgage that ties many to getting money through one form of employment, caring for family through the means of money.
The common path, though, to meet these ends, is not the only path, as most of us intellectually know.
What if society grew up to foster the road less travelled to allow growth to be free and joyous?
Sometimes, a few of us can't wait for society to change so we make our own path, pulled with a deep power that can't be explained. It's rooted in practical reality, not fairy dust illusions.
It's based on a choice to take the first step, to bushwhack a new way with the hope to make it safe for others to follow, if their heart tells them that this is also their way to continue to grow up.
However you grow up, do so with joy and awe, the way we used to when we were kids. Drop the irritation that the illusion that we have the power to control change like an obedient horse. Our souls are more wild and far bigger to be lasso'd by some flimsy rein.
What a difference the world would be if we supported ourselves as we continue to grow up.
