Find your mojo.

because you have a career where the pay and benefits are great BUT the other shoe has dropped. You:
NOW know why your manager was so distant: You didn’t get the promotion. Is this a reflection of my value?
are so stressed out because there’s too much to do, not enough time, and there’s not a thing you can do about it. And your health is beginning to show it.
This message is for [your name]. I got your test results back. Please call me back.
can’t stop thinking about work and now, you can’t sleep. Never ever, EVER, check your work email before you go to sleep, you say, but you do it anyway.
Why can’t I stop? How many years ‘till retirement? Can I quit? Oh, wait, I’m the only working. Why did she say that? Why didn’t I say that? Why can’t I stop?”
have already run out of steam because you’ve already spoke up and put yourself out there. You know how to navigate this place but they make you throw bad after bad.
I’m checked out.
have just experienced something way, way worse regarding another kind of loss…family, relationship.
Is this worth it? Does this even matter? What am I doing with my life?
are doing more under tighter deadlines but things aren’t moving faster.
say, I didn’t sign up for this. You know your talents are blocked because your manager or this year’s business plan doesn’t support you.
work for a dysfunctional company warrants its own chapter in a book yet to be written, Welcome to Crazy.
waste too much time on office politics and managing expectations. Great idea! Did you talk to [3rd approver] yet?
worry about how your work life balance is viewed and if it’s really accepted by the company. I’ve got a plumber coming but I’ll dial into the call from home?
sense that the unicorn stuff is great, but what about the 900 other things your boss wants you to do?
secretly don’t know what to do because nobody else is having a good time either. You have no idea what to do next, so you do nothing.
You know it has nothing to do with your attitude or aptitude but it’s so frustrating because you don’t know what else to do.
You are asking, “What do I really, really, REALLY want?”
I’m here to tell you that it is possible to change those things without changing your life around.
You know that companies don’t change but I believe you have the power to effect real change within it, naturally and without doing more or introducing risk to your reputation.
It’s the friction between what you want and what blocks you when your options are limited because quitting isn’t possible.
What you really want is a strategy on HOW to find your mojo and move things forward no matter what happens around you.
You want to know how to bridge what you want with where you’re at by combining what you see what’s happening right in front of you with your intellect and achievements.
You want to stand in the solution and stop looking at the problem.
You don’t have a lot of time so you need the solution to run on its own so you don’t have to “do” more, without the woo-woo or psyching yourself out.
Thinking clarity and change is hard and takes a long time is so old school.
You’re not old school.
